Born in the Medway towns back in 1976, Leth’s love of Hip Hop and the culture started back in the early eighties when his next door neighbour lent him a copy of Electro 9 which featured Dougie Fresh’s “The Show” from there on he was hooked.
This began his vinyl obsession and the collection of records which has now amassed into a comprehensive and extensive range of Hip Hop. In 2000 he met up with fellow members of Tusken Coalition all which were involved with Cage Records in Nottingham. Although primarily an Mc, Leth was always interested in playing out and building up mix tapes for friends and customers a like. Though due to cash flow he was not able to get his hands on a pair of 1210′s which he could call his own until 2008, literally 20 years after he started collecting vinyl.

Now Leth has been busy making up for lost time, 6 mix-tapes under his belt and a regular set on the Size? Presents night has seen him push not only himself out there but to try and bring Hip Hop back into the Nottingham limelight.
With his latest offering “The Static” which is available for free download via fledgling label Team Chameleon, Leth (With the production assistance of Dwyzak Tha Elevator) has put  together what he describes as a straight up mix of pure Hip Hop.

“I’m not claiming to be the best dj by any stretch of the imagination, but I am trying to select some dope tunes for people to rock on their systems. When I was growing up heads like Westwood, Pete Tong, Max L.X. & Dave VJ and across the seas Red Alert and Cash money would just drop the dopest shit but it was not always about technical ability, just good music. So with The Staic I’m not trying to bring people the most up to date stuff and I’m not blinding people with science I’m just trying to get peeps into good music and if I achieve that then I’m a happy man”

So keep your ears open and appreciate the sound of a culture which has stood the test of time for over 20 years. This is only the 1st of many mixes which will be available over the next year so get involved… Nuff Said!!!
